About Finstock, Inc.
Finstock, Inc. is a financial technology company building AI-powered financial research, trading analytics, quantitative research, and market intelligence tools.
Our work sits at the intersection of financial markets, investment research, quantitative analytics, and AI/LLM product development. We support research workflows that help clients, analysts, and internal product teams better understand market conditions, companies, sectors, and investment themes.
About the Role
We are hiring Investment Research Analysts to cover Southeast Asian financial markets, with priority hiring in Singapore, followed by the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
This role is open to junior candidates, but it is not limited to junior applicants. We welcome candidates who have strong financial-market knowledge, solid research discipline, and the ability to produce clear, structured, and client-ready analysis.
Each analyst is expected to have a strong understanding of their home country's financial market, including local equities, macroeconomic conditions, major sectors, regulatory context, listed companies, market structure, investor behavior, and key domestic financial developments.
The role combines investment research, financial analysis, report writing, market monitoring, client-facing research preparation, and raw research/data preparation for Finstock's Quant and AI/LLM teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct investment research on companies, sectors, industries, macroeconomic trends, and financial markets in the analyst's home country or assigned Southeast Asian market.
- Monitor local market developments, including equities, fixed income, FX, commodities, central bank policy, inflation, interest rates, corporate earnings, regulations, and major economic events.
- Analyze listed companies using financial statements, earnings releases, annual reports, investor presentations, exchange filings, news flow, and market data.
- Prepare structured company profiles, sector reports, market briefs, investment memos, earnings summaries, and thematic research notes.
- Write clear, concise, and client-ready research reports for external or internal distribution.
- Summarize market developments and explain their implications for investors, companies, sectors, and asset classes.
- Build and maintain market watchlists, company databases, valuation references, event calendars, sector trackers, and raw financial datasets.
- Prepare structured raw research inputs for Finstock's Quant and AI/LLM teams, including labeled company information, market event summaries, sector classifications, financial metrics, local-market context, and country-specific research notes.
- Support the development of country-specific financial research workflows, datasets, analytical models, AI systems, and LLM-based investment intelligence products.
- Collaborate with research, product, quant, and AI teams to improve the relevance, accuracy, and local-market usefulness of Finstock's products.
- Ensure all research is objective, factual, well-sourced, and clearly separated from personalized investment advice.
Market Coverage Priorities
We are especially interested in candidates who can cover one or more of the following markets:
- Singapore
- Philippines
- Malaysia
- Indonesia
- Vietnam
- Cambodia
Market Knowledge Expectations
Candidates should be able to explain the structure, behavior, major sectors, listed-company landscape, regulatory environment, and key investment themes of their local market.

Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the financial market in the candidate's home country or assigned Southeast Asian market.

From time to time, analysts may be required to overlap for approximately 4 hours with Hong Kong business hours to coordinate with Finstock's research, product, quant, AI/LLM, and management teams.

This opportunity is presented as an independent contractor engagement. The final written agreement will specify the legal engagement type, scope, payment terms, contractor obligations, statutory treatment if applicable, and termination provisions under applicable law.
Travel Requirement
The role may require occasional travel for a few days near the end of each quarter to Central, Hong Kong, for company meetings, research presentations, planning sessions, reporting, and team gatherings.
When travel is required and approved by the company, reasonable travel-related expenses will be covered by Finstock in accordance with company policy.
Compensation
Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's country, experience, technical capability, research quality, market knowledge, and expected scope of responsibility.
The minimum monthly contractor compensation is USD 850/month.
Higher compensation may be offered to candidates with stronger research experience, deeper market knowledge, superior writing ability, financial modeling skills, multilingual capability, or the ability to cover multiple markets.
Role Boundaries
This role is focused on research, analysis, reporting, market intelligence, and data preparation.
The analyst will not be required or permitted to:
- Manage client funds.
- Execute trades for clients.
- Provide personalized investment advice.
- Act as a broker, investment adviser, portfolio manager, or financial planner.
- Guarantee investment returns or trading profits.
- Handle client deposits, withdrawals, or financial assets.
- All research outputs must be evidence-based, objective, and properly framed as research support rather than personalized financial advice.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, disciplined, and highly familiar with their local financial market.
You should be able to follow market developments, identify what matters, explain why it matters, and turn raw information into clear research that can be used by clients, internal analysts, quant researchers, and AI/LLM product teams.
